Talbots dress |
I bought this dress last summer from Talbots on one of their super sales, I think it came down to about $30.
I don't usually find much at Talbots, but some of my purchases from there are my favorite pieces. That includes my yellow stingray slingbacks, my black sequin shift dress, my leather pencil skirt, my black boatneck LBD and now this dress.
It is a super easy knit dress for summer. It drapes well, the waist is in the right place, the length is good and the colors are flattering. I have double wrapped the belt, but you can also wear it in a bow. It looks good in the back or you can swap it for other belt. I like how the stripes are horizontal in the skirt portion but diagonal in the bodice. I bought size M, because S was not available but I like the loose fit.
My sweater is the J.Crew cashmere double breasted pointelle cardigan in muslin (size Medium). I love this sweater and wear it a lot, I also have it in honey glaze.

This is what I wore the day I was working from home: J.Crew vintage v-neck tee and Janesville linen white pants. I use J.Crew gold flip flops as slippers from spring to fall.

This is my casual Friday outfit, including Banana Republic seersucker Martin fit pants and Boden bow espadrilles. The applique tee in shadow is from J.Crew.

That's all folks!
What are your weekend plans? Mine include volunteering in a soup kitchen on Saturday and celebrating 'Name Day' for hubs.
Plus the European Soccer Cup is starting today with Poland playing Greece in the opening game!
Did I tell you I am a big soccer fan? Do you ever watch soccer?
And do tell me which is your favorite OOTD!
I know this is not the point of the post, but I love all those Talbots pieces of yours!
ReplyDeleteI love them too Lisa. I think that because I am not as smitten with other retailers, as I am with J.Crew, I am more choosy and end up with better pieces.
DeleteSTO LAT!!
ReplyDeleteDziekuje!
DeleteAll lovely looks, I've noticed in the south of France it's all white, beige, little pattern , very much what you're wearing above.
ReplyDeleteI love watching the European cup, I'll be watching when I get back.
Oh, Tabitha, I so hope you had a chance to snap some pictures for us!
DeleteI remember that catalog shop with the Francie skirt and the black cashmere sweater. It always inspires me around the holidays.
ReplyDeleteHi Teri, I love that look and I copied it many times since then, it never fails me.
DeleteI am all gaga for the striped Talbot's dress- it's so lovely on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Slastena!

Hi AhCapp, thanks for stopping by, I did posted my detailed stats in my first group of reviews from February so you can check it out from blog archives but basically I am 5'6", 130 lbs, 38-30-37.
DeleteI really like the color palette of this outfit series. I think you are like me, I stick to a color scheme for a week or so and then switch up, I seem to do this without thinking.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying your weekend!
You are so right Dani, this is exactly what I do.
DeleteMy faves are the one where you didn't want to do the red purse (I agree) and the Tal dress. Super cute. I like the style of the white/khaki, too. I don't watch soccer, but I love ice hockey. I am really bummed that I probably won't be able to watch Game 6 on Monday nite. Even though the season is long, I've only watched one or two games since the baby was born and I miss it. Hope your team wins!
ReplyDeletegigi, those were my favorites too! My team tied two games but they still can advance out of the group phase if they win the third game, on Saturday, I sure hope they will!
Deletei love everything on you but my fave is your work at home outfit. it looks so casually chic. i'm not a big soccer fan but i do love football.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet, I love those linen pants, they are old but so comfy.
