Dress with a bump

OK ladies, I could not help myself.

I was looking at the pictures I took last night and I thought you may need something funny to cheer you up on this dreary Friday (at least around here it is dreary) .

So here it is, my review of Frances dress in raindrop lace:

I grabbed this dress as I was heading to the fitting room. I didn't think it would work for me, and I don't need a dress like that, but since some JCAs seemed to like the raindrop lace in the tee, I thought I would try it on.

This is size 8 and I think the fit is correct. It seems like this year I am 8 in all the dresses.
I think I liked being size 6 better :(  Oh, well.
I do think they are cut a little smaller this year, but I might have also gained a few pounds, time to hit the gym more often. Sigh.

Anyway, the color of the dress (apricot mist) is nice. It is definitely a special occasion dress, maybe for a wedding, graduation, First Communion  or something like that. It is long, almost maxi length. It is past the point when longer dresses look better with heels, I think this one would be better with flats.

It needs some accessorizing, so you don't just blend into the background, unless your skin is darker and then it might be fabulous color on its own.  But still, I think it would benefit from a darker/brighter skinny belt, maybe a redwood brown or deep purple? The necklace would compete with the pretty lace, so I think no necklace, but maybe earrings?

Actually, I think all this is a moot point. Because then I looked at the side view.

Finally I have an A**!!! I was never blessed in this department. Look:

Flass!

I though, maybe it needs some steaming? And then I looked the the stock picture.
OMG, it is there too! Even on this skinny lass!

Dress with a bump

On the other hand, when you think about it, $325 is not too bad, if were considering enhancement job.

Enough said.

Did I make you laugh?
Can this dress be salvaged?

  1. You did - I really need a bottom!
Oh I once bought a pair of those "butt pants" honestly if only there was a private forum to post the pic, you would all die laughing, I had little skinny legs and this big padded black butt, I looked like a giant ant. Of course, I was in stitches and pranced out to show hubs - nop, just horror on his face!

  3. Oh thank you for the laugh ajc! That pic is indeed very funny! I agree with AppGal...how in the world did they think that was going to appeal to someone?

  4. I just went "HAH!" out loud at work. Even the look on the model's face in the picture is like, "Are they serious with this?" I know that Beyonce is a fan of the Crew, so maybe they tailored it to fit her bootylicious rear view ;) I'm jealous - I'm also a flass (great term, btw). My sister always used to joke: "It's like your legs just hit your body and cracked it, but there's no swelling."

  6. LOL, thank you for the laugh. That dress would look so atrocious on me... yikes. I used to have no butt but magically grew one about two years ago... so I can only imagine how big it would look with this lovely garment on. Hahahaha... thank you again.

  7. Oh, and I have needed more and more 8s in dresses too. I have maintained the same weight in the last year. So it isn't just you!!

  8. Well this explains something: i recently saw a customer, using a personal shopper, try on this dress for a summer wedding in which she was participating. I wanted to tell her the color was dreadful on her (though she said she would have a tan by then) but I also didn't think it was so flattering on her figure because of the whole back area: I thought she was well-endowed in that area but now I am thinking the DRESS is well-endowed in that area!

  10. OMG, this is too funny. I walked by that dress several times but just couldn't push myself to try it on, it looked so heavy. Thanks for the good laugh (dreary day indeed, but at least is Friday and not Monday)

  13. Thank you! I saw the dress hanging, couldn't think of a use for it (really, my female ancestors a/k/a the Stylists in the Sky would be back to haunt me if I wore lace to someone else's wedding). Now I know: it's an anti-depressant.

  17. Thanks for the warning! Omg I knew it was gonna be a good post based on the title alone. This dress...wow. The length is an issue, the booty bump. Good point about wearing flats instead. One of the pics makes me feel like showing you where the butter churner is. Please laugh at me if I end up getting this dress for some reason. Deal?

  19. I got this dress (size 4) and am thinking of steaming the pleats out to see if I like it better. I like the top of it, the fabric, the length, but the pleats make me feel like my bottom half is in a file cabinet. Think I can return it if I steam out the pleats?
