Catching up with my life (and my OOTDs)

I think I need to slow down. I have been trying to keep up with posting almost every day, but between working full time, children, household and social life I have very very little time left and I often find myself going to bed around 1AM, totally exhausted. I also don't respond to all the comments the way I would like to or comment on other blogs I keep up with, even if I do read and enjoy all your comments and posts.

I love having this outlet to share with the world, but I think I need to reduce the number of posts. Hopefully that will also mean better content, so please be patient with me.

In the meantime, here is what I've been wearing in the last couple of weeks:

Madewell Academy blazer and tee
Cavalry skirt

WHBM Blouse
H&M top with striped J.Crew pocket tee

BR Trousers and JC shirt
Porcelain Paisley skirt
Back to Madewell

I noticed that I have been wearing more pants and jeans. I think I have been going through pencil skirt fatigue. I do love the Porcelain Paisley though. I found that my cobalt blue snap perfect fit t-shirt  is a great match for the blue in the skirt.

I hope to stop by J.Crew store this evening if time permits. My PS emailed me about the last summer collection they received and put on the floor yesterday. I'd love to try on a few things on and report back to you, probably on Friday.

I will try to go back and respond to your comments, at least the ones with questions, I apologize for the delay.

That's all folks!

Are you excited about the new arrivals at J.Crew that we should see tomorrow?
Do you like any of my OOTDs? Which one is your favorite?

Please share, it would be no fun without you!!!

  1. Blogging can be time consuming, I often struggle to keep up with it. I find it so fun, otherwise I would never do it! Try posting once or twice a week. Responding to comments is very time consuming, I try to respond to each one but I think everyone understands if you can't. I sure do. Even once comment to address all is fine I think!
I love that porcelain paisley skirt and good to know it looks great with that tee, I'm buying it for a friend! :)
I am excited about the new arrivals but I won't be seeing them right away, we leave tomorrow morning.

  2. Loving that whole Calvary skirt outfit with the fabulous yellow shoes. I cut down my posts from three times a week to two and may even just do one. Trying to get back into journalism again and have no time after blogging...

  3. Oh, girl. When I started my blog all those years ago, I would post two to three times a day. I really got caught up in it. Then I realized I just couldn't anymore and was fine with either daily posting OR posting just one to two times a week. :) Definitely do what you can. I still love blogging, and will do it as long as I feel the need to keep talking, but I know how busy everyone gets, so I give myself the out.

As far as comments, I am always beyond impressed by people who respond back in a day's time. I often will wait a WEEK to respond back. Thank goodness disqus e-mails the commenter so they know I haven't forgotten them (which is why I stick with disqus).

Your outfits are so cute and colorful, btw! And you will have plenty of pencil skirt season to wear pencil skirts...so wear the pants while it is still relatively mild!

  4. The porcelain paisley skirt OOTD is my favorite. I don't blog, but I admire and appreciate you all who do it, it must be very time-consuming even if it is fun.

  6. I must confess, I was wondering how on earth you kept up the pace with family and work. Your posts are great and I look for each new one, that won't change when you switch to fewer posts. Especially now that summer is here and children are out of school, time to get away from the computer and enjoy the outdoors!

  7. I completely understand how you feel, ajc! There are so many ideas I have for my blog and posts, but just never seem to be able to manage the time to get them done with everything I have going on in my personal life. Blogging is very time consuming, and I think you can get burnt out very quickly if you try to do too much all at once. I think you just have to do what works for you personally, and if that means only one or two posts a week, then that is what you should do. I always enjoy reading your posts even if I don't always have time to comment, and will continue to do so, even if you do cut down to only a couple each week. :)

  8. I really love the Madewell blazer and jeans on you. But, I'm biased as that's how I dress most often.
Cutting back on posts is fine, you have a life too. Appreciate all the effort you do put in.
