I decided to start a blog just like I decided to purge my closet. I am an 'spur-of-the-moment' decision maker kind of person. Sure, there is so many fashion blogs, who needs mine? Well, maybe I do.
For some time I was posting reviews on JCA Blog, it should be easier to do them here and I will not need to hog the thread. I do visit J. Crew on weekly basis, so I may as well share some of my finds.
My nearest store gets inventory ahead of other stores and I was trying to describe new items in my posts but it is very hard to do without pictures. I tried using Flicker to load my pictures, but I found it cumbersome to manage.
I will post reviews from the store as well as OOTDs. I will also blog about my Project 333 experience. I tend to ramble on when I comment on other blogs and I will feel more justified to do it here instead.
Taking advice from Gigi I will post when I can and I pledge that I will not apologize for not posting, picture quality, lack of shoes, messy hair or no make-up. I will apologize for too much make-up, if necessary ;)
It is what it is, I will just try my best.
I've never seen an apology for too much makeup. *lol*
ReplyDeleteCongrats on starting your blog :)
Hi Gigi, I will cut my head off with no mercy...
DeleteI second the Congrats! Yey for your blog!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you stopped by Alexis!!!! Thanks!
DeleteSo glad to find your blog and to see you've started Project 333 (I started last July). Your blog will be a good place to chronicle your Project 333 journey, I am looking forward to seeing your outfits with your 33 items.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, we will do it together! Did you stick with it? Was it helpful?
DeleteYes I am still doing Project 333 though since my first go around (phase 1 that started last July) I don't include accessories, handbags or shoes. I did for July, August and September but I found it was "too hard" on my shoes to only have three pair in rotation. I don't want to wear out my favorites any faster than usual. ; )
ReplyDeleteFor winter I haven't included coats either (I do love coats)...though I have less than 33 basics (about 25) if I included all my exclusions I'd have more than 33. : ) Now I look at my wardrobe as a defined cohesive "collection". It is a joy to go into my closet and know I can chose any item and it will go with anything in my collection! I also enjoy the culling process every three months and have gotten really good at getting rid if things that don't work on me. Though the first time it was hard...!
It has also really helped me cut back on shopping, I know exactly what I want to add to my "collection" so I don't buy something just because...it's on sale, it's the hottest item...or it looks good in someone else! : )
This past year I have added some older J Crew classics that I have found on ebay or the JCA exchange that I missed the first time they came out. These are items I want in my collection and things I will wear for a long time. For me Project 333 has been a really great experiment in living with less. : )
LOL sorry for the long post!
Oops that should read... looks good ON someone else!
DeleteThis is so encouraging, thanks! You are confirming what I thought about selecting items and accessories. I don't think I can live with just 3 pairs of shoes :) I really hope this will cut down on shopping too. I know it is not a great accomplishment but this last week was first in a long time when I did not buy/order anything. I wasn't even tempted. I attribute it to Project 333 and it feels good and more in line with my what I believe in.
